I love diffusing essential oils, so when I saw a combination diffuser, Himalayan Salt Lamp, and Bluetooth speaker, I knew I had to get it. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the Bluetooth speaker to be any good, but it has a lot better sound than many of the small speakers I own. It easily paired to my phone. You want to look for "F3" in the device list, and that is this diffuser. It also has controls for your music running along the bottom of the diffuser, in between the larger buttons. But I'd have to say, the speaker is probably the best part of the device. The larger button on the right turns the Bluetooth on and off., as well as controlling the volume.
The diffuser has several negatives, as compared to other diffusers I own. First off, the point of an Ultrasonic Diffuser is to turn the oils floating on the top of the water into mist, or more specifically, to use vibrations to create ultrasonic waves which disperse microscopic oil particles into the air. None of my other diffusers state you cannot use pure oil. However, this diffuser says "it is not allowed to add non-water soluble essential oil to the tank to avoid failure and blockage." If you want to use pure essential oils, it says you need to drop them on the salt chunks. Google told me that "water soluble essential oils" are those diluted with carrier oils, witch hazel, or grain alcohol. Since alcohol is dangerous to vaporize, I tested this with some essential oils I have that are "skin friendly," and come pre-diluted with carrier oils. These did not produce a strong scent. I had better luck dropping a few drops of an essential oil blend on to the salt chunks, but found it mattered little if the lamp was on or off, and that the salt acts like a passive diffuser, meaning the scent will be there until it wears off, but really will not scent a room. So if you have a collection of pure essential oils you are used to dropping a few drops of into your diffuser's water tank. this may not be the diffuser you want. With this one, you will have to shop for new, water soluble oils or fragrance oils that already come diluted, and which need more volume of product (vs. the 5 or so drops most diffusers call for.)
The other negative to this diffuser is the fact it really does not offer an adjustable or intermittent mist. The left large dial turns the humidifying function on and off, and supposedly controls the "strength," but I saw little difference when I twisted that dial to different settings. There is no "illumination" of the steam produced from the light. It also lacks any timer setting.
In terms of the light, it has no real color. It offers two settings, one brighter and one dimmer. It is controlled with the first small button to the right of the large dial on the left. First press sets it to its brighter setting, second press to its dimmer setting, and third press turns it off. Unlike a stand alone Himalayan Salt Lamp, the light does not really warm up the salt chunks, so it may or may not offer the purported benefits dedicated salt lamps claim to offer.
So while this is a decent Bluetooth speaker for its price, which was $20 at the time of this review, it is not as good a diffuser or salt lamp than others on the market. With only a 160 ml tank and no intermittent setting, it will only run for a few hours before its tank runs dry. So it will not last through an average night's sleep, although it will offer the benefits of a salt lamp nightlight, and play your sleep playlist for you.
This lamp is powered by USB C, and it includes a USB C to USB A cord, but no power brick. So you will need to supply one of those and place the unit near a power supply. I am one who feels like supplying the cord but not the power brick is like selling an appliance without the need to power it. I see this as another con to this product.
All in all, this is probably a 3.5 star diffuser and salt lamp, with a 4 or 4.5 star Bluetooth Speaker. It is a decent value for its price, and as a secondary diffuser with the "cool factor" of the added Bluetooth, it is worth buying, so long as you are fully aware of the negatives when you press that "add to cart" button.
